During the growth phase of personal brand development, there are several ways to strengthen yourself, one of which is to "become a platform" that helps others exchange and learn from each other.
The "Cross-Boundary Book Club" was officially launched by me in April 2019. Each book club session features a designated book, and sharers must complete the reading before presenting using the "Designer Networking Night approach – each person 20 slides or images, 20 seconds per slide, 6 minutes 40 seconds per person" method. They combine personal stories with insights from the book to deliver "time-limited sharing" at the book club to maintain high-quality content.
I understand that other book clubs have many people sharing different books, which provides diverse content, but each person speaks for different lengths of time, and some people are unwilling to share, losing the value of exchange.
There are also book clubs where everyone prepares presentations, but without time limits. Some people go off-topic or exceed their time, making the entire book club session drag on and compress discussion time.
Therefore, when Yuanliou Publishing invited me to write a recommendatory preface for their book "The Art of Breaking Your Echo Chamber: Community Connections," I mentioned this within it:
【Self-Media World】Karen Shao – Hosting a Book Club, Connecting with Hundreds of High Achievers
① [Limited Theme] Incorporate the "reading" theme into gatherings, optimizing lecturers and participants.
② [Quality Control] Using the "Designer Networking Night" approach, let every participant act as a platform host, sharing their life stories through reading.
③ [Key to Success] Do what you love, what you're good at, and what society needs.
In the past, if someone didn't finish the book but still paid to attend, I would ask them to come next time, because everyone needs to speak for fair and deep exchanges. Previously limited to 12-15 participants, but early next year we'll break from the original format. We'll open limited audience seating, allowing knowledge sharers to combine their life stories with insights from the book, interpreting the same book and same sentences, and experiencing the charm of knowledge flow and different interpretations. You'll discover that ordinary people's stories often resonate perfectly with your own life.

Many knowledge sharers are being limited on presentation time and slide count for the first time. This situation is like before when people controlled presentations, but now they must match the pace of the slides and adjust themselves accordingly. To maintain quality, I specially invited Wang Jia-lin, a media person with 10 years of experience currently working as a news anchor at FTV, to conduct training.
The training method is: 1-on-1, 30 minutes per person, starting with basic body language and speech teaching, then actual presentation practice, with direct feedback and suggestions for adjusting expression methods.

Some knowledge sharers already have extensive speaking experience, but still have personal blind spots, such as unclear pronunciation or impure rolling-r sounds. The anchor directly asks them to read a passage on the spot and provides adjustments based on their situation.
(Photo / Knowledge sharer Maguro, who already has multiple large-scale speaking experiences, receives feedback from the anchor on pronunciation methods)

"Thank you for giving me this opportunity; today was really helpful. I'll prepare well over the next week."
"Thank you for this chance to correct some issues I should pay attention to during speeches. I think it's great."
"This pre-event practice is very meaningful. I feel like I learned a lot!"
"I should be thanking you for such a thoughtful arrangement. It really helps me a lot."
"Before I controlled the slides, now I have to follow the slide pace – it's really not easy."
After the body language and speech training, sharers have already practiced their upcoming content once, which will strengthen their presentations and improve fluency. The same book has different interpretive approaches – some people tell personal stories in an emotional way, while others break down the book title and internalize it as their own knowledge. I'm really looking forward to these sharings.

When the rules of wealth accumulation have already changed, the safe path will only lead to the most mediocre results!
Change your mindset about "risk" and "safety"! Risk is actually your friend
The biggest feature of this book is that the preface is 34 pages long with 62 renowned international endorsers.
After reading this book, you'll discover that the wealth accumulation rules in this world have changed dramatically from the past. Clinging to old ways of thinking can never lead to success.
